San Marcos teacher dies after motor scooter accident

SAN MARCOS —- San Marcos Middle School teacher John Swift died early Friday morning after he was involved in a motor scooter accident on Cassou Street just east of Buena Creek Road in an unicorporated area of San Marcos.California Highway Patrol Officer Tom Kerns said Swift, 50, lost control of his motor scooter after trying to make a turn too quickly and crashed into a telephone pole. The accident occurred at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening
