Americans’ Approval of Congress Drops to Single Digits

Everyone is wrong about the student loan issue; both douchebag sides need to shut the hell up (here’s why)

Oct 28th, 2011 Posted in politics | Comments Off

So… read around the Internet today and everyone will have you believe that either A) ZOMG loans are 100k+ and are out of control or B) shut the fuck up, I worked through college and have no loans and you are a loser for taking your loans.

And do you know what we realize… that ONCE AGAIN… the middle class… the average citizen in American, has been suckered into a fight of extreme left versus extreme right. The two extremes that don’t give a shit about you and me, the average American.

You see, the extreme right… they can pay for everything they want/need. It’s easy, they just roll up their sleeves and elbow grease it, amiright? Or maybe, they just get a check written for them and then they are done & done.

The extreme left, well they just need a gub-ment hand out for their extreme levels of debt (100k plus) and then they will be done and done, amirite? You see, they were ENTITLED to get that expensive liberal arts degree just as much as mr right wing was, aren’t they?

But let’s talk REALITY for a second. Read the rest of this entry »

“We’re a culture, Not a costume” meme

Oct 27th, 2011 Posted in entertainment, politics | Comments Off

So… some overly sensitive PC police created this “campaign” to alert anyone thinking of buying a costume that you could be insulting someone by doing so. Who am I going to insult? The bombing people culture?! I think this is hilarious actually. The PC-police state that continues to grow in America every day never ceases to amaze me. Maybe it’s just me, but I appreciate offensive humor.

Someone might say “well that is because you are white” and I would say NO, douchebag, that is because I have a sense of humor. In fact, I never understood the big hubbub over mascots. Naming a team the redskins isn’t offensive. It’s in good fun. You might say “why not name a team the Guineas?” and I would reply to you (being half Italian) that I would find that hilarious, and would root for that team double hard if they were from my home state of New Jersey!

That is why the Internet has struck back and made a “meme” of this campaign. Parodying it with all sorts of characters… my favorite:

Capitalism Sucks….

OCTOBER 24–Citing the potential of “Occupy Wall Street” to become a “global brand,” a Long Island couple has filed to trademark the name of the amorphous organization responsible for the protests and encampments in lower Manhattan and other U.S. cities, The Smoking Gun has learned.

In a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) application, Robert and Diane Maresca are seeking to trademark the phrase “Occupy Wall St.” so that they can place it on a wide variety of goods, including bumper stickers, shirts, beach bags, footwear, umbrellas, and hobo bags.

The October 18 filing, made in Diane Maresca’s name, cost the couple $975, which Robert Maresca, 44, termed “something of a gamble” in a TSG interview.

So Far Gone

Oct 26th, 2011 Posted in entertainment | Comments Off

I used to like Lindsay Lohan, I really did. Parent Trap? Fantastic. Mean Girls? Epic. Then began that awful downward spiral, Perez Hilton trashing on her, endless court appearances, and now she’s a tragic train wreck. And, what does any once-classy lady do when she’s hit rock bottom? Why, Playboy, obviously. And what’s the best bit? Her mom (obviously) weighed in on the whole affair:

According to X17, the Lohan matriarch told the website of Lindsay’s latest career move, “The photo shoot went well.”

Lohan wasn’t alone on set, however. As always, the eldest Lohan sibling was busy setting a great example for her younger sis, Ali. The duo was spotted arriving at a massive Beverly Hillls mansion together on Monday where the shoot took place.

Tragic. Looks like I need to find a new trainw–, erg, idol.

Pat Robertson says the GOP is too extreme right now. Let that sink in a bit. Pat Robertson… Says the GOP… is too extreme

Oct 25th, 2011 Posted in politics | Comments Off

From RAWSTORY, but the headline is thanks to FARK:

Pat Robertson provided a statement Monday afternoon that some may consider a “pot meets kettle” moment.

On the latest installment of The 700 Club, the televangelist the televangelist admitted that even he believes many in the Republican Party have shifted too far to the right.

“I believe it was Lyndon Johnson that said, ‘Don’t these people realize if they push me over to an extreme position I’ll lose the election?’” Robertson said. “Those people in the Republican primary have got to lay off of this stuff. They’re forcing their leaders, the frontrunners, into positions that will mean they lose the general election.”

He added: “You appeal to the narrow base and they’ll applaud the daylights out of what you’re saying and then you hit the general election and they say ‘no way’ and then the Democrat, whoever it is, is going to just play these statements to the hilt. They’ve got to stop this! It’s just so counterproductive!”

It is telling that Robertson, a man renowned for his myriad of controversial comments, believes that the party he supports needs to scale back on its fervor. These comments are significant because Robertson was a co-founder of the Christian Coalition, which became the most powerful faction of the Republican Party in the 80s and 90s.

Craigslist Trolling… The 99 needs supplies. Email Response

Oct 25th, 2011 Posted in personal, press | Comments Off

So, I received a response to my question to the “99er” as to “could you explain your cause…. in detail, and exactly what you need… supplies wise”.

This was the response:

Marcel Rose wrote:

“To end the fractional banking system. we as Americans bust our a** day in and day out for what? We have had the most foreclosures in history, and the highest gas prices ever within the past year. Milk goes up, gas goes up, rent goes up, taxes go up, does everyone’s wages go up? how are we supposed to survive? We suffer as The rich get richer & the poorer get poorer. We send all this money overseas to “help” others when we have the same issues.here that are ignored. We have poverty, ppl with no health care, good hard working citizens that are losing everything they own. If we as people stand together our voices will be heard on the global level. But to do that we have to be able to raise money for travel, food, tents, clothing, etc. once we are occupying a majority of the states there’s nothing they can do but at least hear us out n let us Americans voice our opinions.”

I feel this is extremely well worded and there is a clear message from this person… but once again, siding with Neil, MAKE THIS YOU MESSAGE!   NON-VIOLENT ORGANIZED MESSAGE.  Let people know what it’s about because there’s no real organized answer.  I commend you Mr. Rose.  I hope for your sake, and that of the American people it does happen.  I am going to email back and see if he would like to join us on the show… we will see.

MacGyver Gets Political

Oct 24th, 2011 Posted in none | Comments Off

In case no one noticed, I always make mention of my home state whenever I can, so it comes as no surprise that I got pretty heated when this little nugget made the news:

(CBS/AP)

PORTLAND, Maine – Police are looking for the person they say threw a chemical bomb at the Occupy Maine encampment in Portland.

Police responded around 4 a.m. Sunday morning to an explosion in Lincoln Park at Congress and Pearl Streets.

Nobody was injured in the incident, reports CBS Affiliate WGME, but the homemade bomb – made up of chemicals poured into a plastic Gatorade container – could have caused serious injury.

Police said the bomb was thrown into the camp’s kitchen, a tarped area where food is cooked and served.

Stephanie Wilburn, who was at the camp at the time, told WGME that she heard a “clank” when a car drove by, and then witnessed an explosion about three feet away from her, under a table.

A friend who checked out the scene found the remains of a Gatorade bottle that had contained Drano and tin foil.

“It was kind of scary,” Wilburn said.

“I lost hearing overnight, and I also got a sore thoat from inhaling the Drano smoke. So it was not very fun at all,” she said.

Police Chief Michael Sauschuck said detectives don’t necessarily believe Occupy Maine was the sole target because another device was set off elsewhere that night.

Sauschuck described the device Monday as the type often associated with teenage pranks. But he said police are taking it seriously because someone could’ve been hurt.

No arrests have been made.

Maybe this is my dirty crunchy liberal side coming out to play, but why was that necessary? Despite maybe being a teenage prank, teenage ≠blind. Clearly this little drain-o bomb was lobbed at the #OM camp. Unless the “bomber” thought he was freeing the tent people without getting out of the car, this was obviously an act of direct violence. Not nice, dudes.

America just installed Sharia Law in Libya

Oct 24th, 2011 Posted in politics | Comments Off

Within days of the coalition of free & democratic nations helping to rid the world of Moammar Khadafy, the fruits of their labor have been revealed more fully: Sharia Law and another religious state added to the world. While it is not clear whether Libya could become the next Iran, it’s “interim” leader’s words are surely no comfort to those in the western world.

From the New York Daily News:

During a ceremony Sunday marking an end of Libya’s eight-month civil war, Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, chairman of the National Transitional Council revealed the country will be ruled by Sharia law.

Islamic Sharia law, a controversial code for living that governs observant Muslims’ lives, will be the “basic source” of legislation from now on, said Abdul-Jalil.

Existing laws that contradict the teachings of Islam will be nullified, he said.
