Warner Bros. Pictures has provided ComingSoon.net with the new teaser poster for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, coming to theaters and IMAX on July 13, 2007. You can catch the new teaser trailer in theaters this weekend with Happy Feet.

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community is in denial about the teenager’s recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort, preferring to turn a blind eye to the news that Voldemort has returned. Fearing that Hogwarts’ venerable Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, is lying about Voldemort’s return in order to undermine his power and take his job, the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, appoints a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher to keep watch over Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students. But Professor Dolores Umbridge’s Ministry-approved course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the dark forces threatening them and the entire wizarding community, so at the prompting of his friends Hermione and Ron, Harry takes matters into his own hands. Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves “Dumbledore’s Army,” Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts, preparing the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.

ComingSoon.net talked to Shawn Ashmore (aka Iceman) about possible future X-Men movies. Here’s a clip:
“I know they are doing a Wolverine prequel and I’ve heard a rumor about a Magneto film… those are all in the past like prequels and origin stories, so I don’t know. There are rumors about an ‘X-Men 4,’ but as far as I’ve been told ‘X3′ was going to be the last big ensemble ‘X-Men’ movie. I would love if they made another one, but I’m not sure that they will,” he told us.
In the interview, available in full at the link above, he also reveals he has a contract in place for a fourth film.

This afternoon, the United Nations rejected a call by “Jedi Knights” in England for recognition of the Jedi faith as an official world religion, RAW STORY has found.
A story today in the English tabloid The Sun reported an appeal to departing Secretary-General Kofi Annan by the Jedi worshippers for official recognition of their religion. The Sun reported that 390,000 people listed “Jedi” as their faith on the 2001 UK Census. The Sun added that the Jedi believers wanted today’s UN International Day of Tolerance changed to an “Interstellar Day of Tolerance.”
But today in New York, the spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations said that Mr. Annan would not make any such move. “The UN is not in the business of certifying religions,” said Mr. Annan’s spokesman, Stephane Dujarric.
“With or without light sabres,” he added.
When pressed for further clarification, Mr. Dujarric added “If I could be transported to another planet right now, I would.”
The Marvel Animation VP discusses plotlines, origins, and possible sequel(s) of the upcoming DVD release.
Crave Online talked to Marvel Animation VP, Craig Kyle about the Invincible Iron Man animated film. The film is an extension of the Ultimate Avengers animated series. Marvel Animation is also planning a Dr. Strange animated film and has recently launched an all new Fantastic Four series on Cartoon Network.
Kyle discussed the setting and updating of Iron Man’s origin: “There are some things that you can’t directly translate so you look for the key elements. It’s a man who is in a foreign land that gets wounded intentionally by other parties and is forced to save his own life and in that process [he] creates a suite of armor and becomes Iron Man. Updating the land and peoples involved in that attack, are really what we changed. It really celebrates the latter half of Iron Man’s life, the villains he faced, the world that is in his future, without hurting the classic origin”.
He also spoke about a plotline: On the “Demon in a bottle” storyline Kyle said “sometimes people bring up the alcoholism aspect and we all know it’s a huge part of Tony’s life but it has not place in our origin film because that’s not where he started.”
Regarding a sequel to the animated feature, he said “if they get behind it I’m all about continuing the saga and we will get there when we need to get there.”
The Invincible Iron Man hits stores on January 23rd, 2007.
Los Angeles gossip websites Defamer and TMZ.com reported tonight on the highly illegal leakage of an unfinished trailer for “Spider-Man 3.” The trailer, which can as of this writing be seen on Defamer and Google Video, features new footage and incomplete special effects shots from the hotly anticipated Sam Raimi film, including a finished, crystal clear shot of the film’s version of Venom.

The trailer was apparently rejected by Sony Pictures and thusly not finished, although its origins are betrayed by the Ant Farm watermark, which can be seen prominently throughout the video. An award winning trailer-cutting house, Ant Farm explained to TMZ.com that both they and Sony Pictures do not believe the leak came from their company. Indeed, after a trailer is created, copies travel through a complex network of industry offices, making it impossible to guarantee security with any real certainty. Unfortunately for Sony, even if the thief is caught and prosecuted, it’s unlikely that in the age of viral video, they’ll ever be able to fully reign in the illegal distribution of the unfinished trailer.

IESB briefly questioned X-actor Hugh Jackman a.k.a., Wolverine, and confirmed that veteran super-movie director Bryan Singer is his top choice for the Wolverine movie. But will Singer have time to do both Superman II AND another X-Film?
IESB: About a month ago, you said you might have news on who you would prefer to have direct Wolverine. Recently, Bryan Singer has said he was offered to direct it, doing more research I am hearing it’s been you hoping to get Bryan to direct it.
Hugh Jackman: Well, the…(laughing)…the thing is it’s all in negotiations, I can really…there is a list and Bryan is, sort of, at the beginning of it, so, of course, he’s in the loop. So, but, it is too early for me to say.
IESB: The fact that he [Bryan Singer] is talking about it…
Hugh Jackman: I think it’s great, we’ll see the way we go, and now we have the script and now we really need to work out who is the best person for it. But, you know, Bryan has always been in the loop, for us.
IESB: Is the plan still to shoot [Wolverine] mid-year next year (2007)?
Hugh Jackman: No, I’m meant to finish Baz’s [Lurhmann] movie, the end of August, my guess is that Baz might just go til September…well, who knows, I think we’ll go for the beginning of ’08. That way…I need to have, my idea for Wolverine, I want to have four months clear before I start shooting, ‘cause I want to be in shape, the physical shape, I have never been in before.
